DONOR SPOTLIGHT: PODS

PODS offers storage solutions for your home, business, or anywhere else you may need extra space for temporary or long-term storage. Thanks to a generous donation by our local PODS distributor, the Ronald McDonald House now has a short-term solution for our largest fundraisers - Sport A Shirt, Share A Night & Light-A-Luminary. Over the holidays, PODS offered 2 storage containers to house our 4000 sand bags and candles. This spring, they delivered a portable container to store the 5000 t-shirts we recieved for our 2013 Sport A Shirt campaign. Not only do the PODS units offer easy access to our fundraising materials, they also free up much-needed space in the Ronald McDonald House to allow the highest level of care for our families.

Mr. Rooter

From leaky faucets to clogged drains, Mr. Rooter is one phone call away, and ready to tackle any needs that may arise. As one our newest community partners, they have willingly come to our rescue on more than one occasion, and all as a generous donation to our organization. Dick's Sporting Goods

They newly-opened Dick's Sporting Goods in Greenville has a great emphasis on serving their community. Since breaking ground, the company has participated in multiple community fundraisers, including our holiday event - Light-A-Luminary. Dick's donated 5000 plastic shopping bags, used to package luminary kits. Thank you, Dick's Sporting Goods for your support of our fundraising efforts!

Walgreens Stores

Recently, local Walgreens Stores have partnered with our Ronald McDonald House to provide milk and eggs for our families. Lately, we have been short-handed on gift cards to buy our perishable items, such as milk and eggs. When a local Walgreens manager caught wind of this need, he immediately offered to supply the House with a weekly donation of the items. In addition to this recent partnership, Walgreens stores have been long-time supporters of the Ronald McDonald House, offering shoppers the opportunity to donate candy for our families over the holidays. Thank you, Walgreens, for your continued support!

U.S. Lawns

U.S. Lawns, a nationwide lawncare company that prides themselves on providing trust, quality, service and value, is making a difference on a local level. The Greenville, NC franchise has generously donated their time, talent and services to care for the lawn and landscaping at the Ronald McDonald House. Bill Freelove, owner of the franchise and long-time supporter of the RMH shares his thoughts on the new partnership.

"It has been my privilege to have been involved with The Ronald House since its very inception: from the days when the idea for The House was just that--an idea.
Along the way I’ve had the great opportunity to work with some extraordinary people who have freely contributed many hours and talents in many different ways to make the dream a reality.
And now I have the opportunity to contribute in another way. It gives me great pleasure to help make the Ronald House property a more beautiful place....a yard with sheltering trees, lovely shrubbery of soothing shades of green, and cheery flowers: a yard of a home that reaches out its arms and says, “You are welcome here.'"

The contributions of U.S. Lawns will continue to benefit our guests, by welcoming them with colorful flowers and seasonal blooms as they enter their "home away from home."

Burnetti's Pizza, Subs & Wings

The "Burnetti" Family became part of our family over 20 years ago, when daughter Angee was injured in a car accident as a child. Her family stayed in the Ronald McDonald House throughout Angee’s recovery, and was able to remain close to their daughter during one or her most challenging times.
Since opening their doors, Burnetti's Pizza, Subs & Wings has been dedicated to giving back to the families of the Ronald McDonald House whenever possible. They provide monthly feasts for our families, answer the call whenever Wish List items or last minute meals are needed, and donate all kitchen tips to the "Share A Night" fund. We can't say "Thank You" enough to this amazing family for all they do to give back to ours!

Telco Credit Union

Telco Credit Union, one of Eastern North Carolina’s leading credit unions since 1941, recently partnered with the Ronald McDonald House to help serve our families. As the 2011 Light-A-Luminary sponsor, Telco Credit Union ensured that 100% of the proceeds from this successful campaign go directly to the families that need it. In addition, they’ve created a new way to give back and become a member of Telco. By making a $25 donation to the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern NC, community members can join the Credit Union and take advantage of their programs and low rates. Advanced Home Care

Advanced Home Care hosted their 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on September 21st in Greensboro and raised $60,000 for charity. The proceeds were split between the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina and Wellmont Health System Children's Services. Each year, the proceeds from the event benefit two charitable organizations within Advanced Home Care's service area.

Advance Home Care is a not-for-profit, hospital-affiliated company that offers the remarkable full-service health care that patients need in the comfort of their own homes. They operate 34 branch locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee and service over 30,000 patients each day. Their mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of patients by providing compassionate, high-quality, home health care with dedicated, caring, and highly skilled staff.

In response to the successful tournament, Joel Mills, Advanced Home Care’s CEO said, “I’m very proud that we are able to work together with members of our community and partners of Advanced Home Care to help these two charities. This has been our most successful tournament to-date, thanks to everyone who supported our 18th annual charity golf event. It’s because of you that we may give back to those in the communities we serve who need our assistance the most. And it’s also because of you that Advanced Home Care is able to care for over 30,000 patients in the comfort of their homes each day.”

SCENTSY

Scentsy, an international, direct sales company that specializes in wickless candles, has recently partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities for their Fall/Winter cause marketing campaign.

Scentsy has created Sasha, a new member of the "Scentsy Buddy" family, to serve as the cause product for this campaign. 100 percent of the net commission from sales of Sasha will benefit RMHC global.

In addition to the global funds, Shannon Grant, Megan Wamer, and Annette Cash, local Scentsy Consultants from team Heavenescents, have organized the “Making a Difference" campaign to benefit the local Ronald McDonald house. Team Heavenescents is collecting donations from individuals and businesses for the purchase of the scented buddies that will warm the hearts of children hospitalized in the community. Their goal is for every hospitalized child whose family is staying at the Ronald McDonald House to receive a buddy free of charge. The buddies are available in eight different characters with over 30 Scent Pak options.

Area businesses have enthusiastically embraced this campaign and have committed funds to purchase over 200 buddies so far. Scentsy's Charitable Cause Buddy, Sasha, will be a special buy this season. In addition, consultants from Team Heavenescents are giving their personal commissions from the sales of this buddy to the local RMH. These donations will directly benefit our House and our families of Eastern North Carolina. The profits from each Sasha bear sold will generate the equivalent of one night's stay at the RMH! The team is also dedicating their time to periodically prepare meals for the families.

Race for Aydan

Each year a group of dedicated friends and family members of a special young man run in the Disney World Marathon Events to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House in the Race for Aydan. To date they have raised over $40,000 to provide homes and hope for families of Eastern North Carolina.
