Sport-A-Shirt Day 2012 - Friday, April 27
Sport-A-Shirt, Share-A-Night is a unique fundraiser that allows participants to support the Ronald McDonald House, simply by wearing a Ronald McDonald House t-shirt. Each $10 shirt sold will support 1 family for 1 night in our House. Each year, a community "Sport-A-Shirt Day" is chosen, encouraging the community to come together, showing their support of the Ronald McDonald House families. Not only do individuals, organizations and former families participate, but many companies join in, allowing their staff to "dress down" for a cause. This year's Sport-A-Shirt Day was bigger than ever, with thousands of participants "sporting" their shirts all over Eastern North Carolina. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a great success! Please take a moment to view the photos we were able to capture of our awesome supporters.

Ron-A-Thon 2012 - Saturday, March 24, 2012
The 2nd Annual Ron-A-Thon: 5K, Red Nose Fun Run & Family Carnival was an amazing success! This family-friendly event was presented by Kerr Cares for Kids Foundation and hosted by ECU's chapters of Alpha Delta Pi, Pi Kappa Alpha and our own Teen Ambassadors. The race was once again held on 5th St. with the start & finish lines at Chico's Restaurant on Cotanche St. The Family Carnival, a new event added this year, was held at Five Points Plaza and featured carnival games, a popcorn & cotton candy machine and a bouncy moonwalk for the kids. This year's event was the most successful yet with over 160 runners participating and several families visiting the Carnival. All runners were given a red clown nose to wear during the races, raising awareness for the Ronald McDonald House. Visit our Facebook Photo Album to see all the fun that was had!

Volunteer Banquet - Wednesday, February 29, 2012
Every year, we get the pleasure of formally saying "Thank You" to our wonderful volunteers by hosting a Volunteer Banquet. This year, in celebration of the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern NC's 25th Birthday, we invited all past Volunteers of the Year, many of whom shared their fondest memories of the House. To go along with Ronald McDonald House Charities' current theme of "Strength in Numbers," we decorated centerpieces with statistics over the past 25 years. Visit our Facebook Photo Gallery to see more photos from this year's celebration.

McDonald's Luminary Night - Thursday, December 15, 2011
In honor of the families staying in the Ronald McDonald House over the holiday season - away from their own homes - All Dixon Foods Group McDonald's lit up on December 15 from 6-8pm. Each restaurant lit luminaries in their parking lots, drive thru lines and sidewalks to encourage customers to come inside and support the House through the Light-A-Luminary campaign. This event was so successful, we hope to continue for years to come!

Thanksgiving - Thursday, November 24, 2011
Our families enjoyed another delicious Thanksgiving feast, thanks to several members of the community. We would like thank our friends from the Service League for, once again, preparing a wonderful meal. They were joined by a great group of volunteers lead by board member, Frank Thornton, his wife Susan and daughter Sally, her friends Katherine and Jill Dry, as well as Ed and Shannon McBride with son Tyler. They set up, served, cleaned up and entertained our 21 families. Thank you for bringing comfort to the guests of the Ronald McDonald House and ensuring that they had a Happy Thanksgiving…away from home.

This great event was started by Happy and Kristi Wade to honor their daughter, Emily. What began as a way to give back to the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill has turned into a successful collaberation of the Wade family, McDonald's Owner/Operators and the three Houses.
